About Life Planning/Eldercare Services
The mission of Life Planning/Eldercare Services at George Mason University is to provide support services to the university community, including faculty and staff, as they seek to balance the responsibilities of work and caregiving of elder family members.
The Life Planning/Eldercare Services Team, comprised of Human Resource professionals and College of Health and Human Services aging specialists, is available to provide guidance to caregivers and managers to help promote employee and family wellness, workforce productivity, and balance between work life and personal life.
Available services include:
- Consultation to identify and understand eldercare needs
- Resource and referral information to support a broad range of caregiving needs, including but not limited to housing, transportation, and legal issues, in Fairfax County, Virginia/Maryland/DC, and/or nationwide.
- Educational Seminars to provide background information on aging well as well as sessions to enhance caregiving understanding and expertise
